The Beatles Songbook Poetic Analysis

“Here Comes The Sun” by The Beatles

Here comes the sun, here comes the sun and I say it’s all right
Little darling, it’s been a long cold lonely winterLittle darling, it feels like years since it’s been here

Here comes the sun, here comes the sun And I say it’s all right

Little darling, the smiles returning to the faces, Little darling, it seems like years since it’s been here

Here comes the sun, here comes the sun
And I say it’s all right

Sun, sun, sun, here it comes
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes

Little darling, I feel that ice is slowly melting, Little darling, it seems like years since it’s been clear

Here comes the sun, here comes the sun, And I say it’s all right
Here comes the sun, here comes the sun

It’s all right, it’s all right

The poem/song “Here Comes The Sun” by The Beatles tried to express about being in a depressed state of mind and slowly starting to feel happiness once more. My 8th grade year I was very heartbroken over my parents divorce. I was always gloomy or bitter and never cheerful. Overtime, I grew more and more joyful.

“Ob-La-Di,Ob-La-Da” by the Beatles

Desmond has a barrow in the market place, Molly is the singer in a band, Desmond says to Molly, Girl, I like your face, And Molly says this as she takes him by the hand
Ob-la-di,ob-la-da life goes on ,bra La-la how their life goes on, Ob-la-di ,ob-la-da life goes on bra, La-la how their life goes on

Desmond takes a trolley to the jeweler’s store, Buys a twenty carat golden ring
Takes it back to Molly waiting at the door, And as he gives it to her she begins to sing

Ob-la-di, ob-la-da life goes on, bra La-la how their life goes on, Ob-la-di, ob-la-da life goes on, bra La-la how their life goes on

In a couple of years they have built A home sweet home, With a couple of kids running in the yard Of Desmond and Molly Jones

Happy ever after in the market place Desmond lets the children lend a hand
Molly stays at home and does her pretty face, And in the evening she still sings it with the band

ob-la-di , ob-la-da life goes on ,bra La-la how their life goes on, ob-la-di, ob-la-da life goes on, bra La-la how their life goes on

In a couple of years they have built A home sweet home With a couple of kids running in the yardOf Desmond and Molly Jones

happy ever after in the market place Molly lets the children lend a hand
Desmond stays at home and does his pretty face And in the evening she’s a singer with the band

ob-la-di, ob-la-da life goes on, bra La-la how their life goes on
Yeah, ob-la-di ob-la-da life goes on, bra La-la how their life goes on
And if you want some fun,
take ob-la-di ob-la-da

The Beatles wrote a poem/ song called ” Ob-La-Di,Ob-La-Da” to debilitate that life goes on and you can’t hold onto everything. Throughout my life I have always been one to keep grudges and not let go of my past. This song/poem reminds me that I can’t live in the past, I have to move forward.
“Let It be” by The Beatles
When I find myself in times of trouble, Mother Mary comes to me, Speaking words of wisdom, Let it be
And in my hour of darkness, She is standing right in front of me
Speaking words of wisdom, Let it be

Let it be, let it be, let it be, let it be, Whisper words of wisdom, Let it be

And when the broken-hearted people, Living in the world agree, There will be an answer, Let it be

For though they may be parted there is still a chance that they will see,
There will be an answer, Let it be

Let it be, let it be, let it be, let it be, there will be an answer, Let it be

Let it be, let it be, let it be, let it be, Whisper words of wisdom, Let it be

Let it be, let it be, let it be, let it be, Whisper words of wisdom, Let it be

And when the night is cloudy, There is still a light that shines on me, Shine until tomorrow, Let it be

I wake up to the sound of music, Mother Mary comes to me, Speaking words of wisdom, Let it be

Let it be, let it be, let it be, let it be, There will be an answer, Let it be

Let it be, let it be, let it be, let it be, There will be an answer, Let it be

Let it be, let it be, let it be, yeah, let it be, Whisper words of wisdom,Let it be

“Let It Be” is a song/ poem composed by The Beatles to convey having fait and trust in your religion. I am a Christian. I believe in fait and that everyone has a path in life.
The three poems/ songs come together to form one heart. Fait will lead you down the right path but you have to let things go and not be in a bad state of mind.

The Book Thief

My experience reading The Book Thief is rough. It was a long book, I started reading it every-night but I didn’t really follow through. I read a little bit while I traveled but after that I wasn’t even half way done with it. But once I realized that a blog post was due in a couple weeks I panicked. I buckled down and finished it over the course of 3 days, reading hours at a time. I will say the audio version helped me get through it.

The reason it was rough is because the begging was very long, it would just make  me sad or it was just boring. When it got interesting it was still kinda stretched out (like when they got Max). Also, there was so much build up to them ( Hans, Rosa, and Rudy) all dying expect for Lisel and she goes with the mayor’s wife,  but it doesn’t explain what happens after that. She goes to their funerals and reunites with Max but what happens after? Does she go live with him? Or he moves in the the Mayor? It just doesn’t say.  Death talks about her life after but very vague, how she has three kids, a husband, and is far away from Molching, but I want to know more. Overall I just feel unsatisfied and wish their was more to the story instead of just leaving it with her meeting death for the fourth time.
